Can hear all the fireworks a poppin' - including the kids across the street lighting them on their lawn...

Ah, Canada...

The land that could have had American technology, British politics and French culture, but ended up with French politics, American culture and British technology.

But I imagine you've heard that one a couple of times. :-)

Happy Canada Day anyway!

:-)

Speaking of vowels reminds me of the other Canadian joke I know (as opposed to a bunch of Newfie jokes someone once sent me for no reason I understand)...

Supposedly some men out in the woods of northern America decided the land they were in needed a name. They decided to choose the name randomly, using letters from a Scrabble game, but when they looked at the bag of letters they discovered it had no vowels.

"Well," said one, "Let's try it and see what happens."

The first man drew out a letter, "C, eh."

The second man drew out a letter, "N, eh."

The third man drew out a letter, "D, eh."
