Apollo Discussions > The Hoax Theory

Our favourite "Dr" turned up in a debate recently

Bryanpoprobson:
MCTOON is doing a follow up debate in July, with Marcus “yes they did, oh wait no they didn’t land on the Moon” Allen. Does anybody have any links to specific ballistic tests carried out on the AL7 suits? As this is one of his question he will face. I can find references to ballistic tests but no actual documentation or images.

Marcus is the classic grifter.

onebigmonkey:
Rasa is the grift that keeps on giving. I say grift, that would imply that he knows the missions happened and is just in it for clicks and glory, but I do believe he is genuinely stupid.

There was this one time that he trumpeted loudly to his adoring audience that he had identified the building at Canon AFB used to film the landings. It was marked in blue on a map. We all know what blue on a map means, right? Well, he didn't, and he didn't realise it was an artificial lagoon (see the end of this
https://onebigmonkey.com/itburns/bartbs/bartsbull.html ).

I have a part of my site dedicated to quick debunks of stupid claims, and he makes up a hefty chunk of them.

His latest one is a classic. He claims that the Surveyor 3 images show telescopic tubing on the soil scoop arm used to retract and extend it. The Apollo images he's found seem to show a thin line. The reason for that is that it's a steel tape, and what seem to him to be joints in tubing are just markings on the tape. It's the same error people make with the PLSS blade aerials.

A couple of people have tried to reason with him and point out that no, it's a thin band and it's the viewing angle, and no, that's not how these type of pantograph arms work but he's having none of it.

His latest post on it is to urge people to download the Surveyor images as NASA are redacting them, which is just a flat out lie.

See the fun here:

He's somehow managed to convince people that he's an authority on the subject but he is absolutely clueless.

I'm not so sure this is actually happening now. Saw some posts from MCToon regarding getting the debate set up, and some of the back and forth was leaning towards that the Apollo Detectives wanted Toon to come to them, rather than a third party as he often does these days, and that they had questions, rather than they would be providing evidence of hoax. There didn't seem to be any actual replies/comments from Marcus though, so not sure what's happening with this one.

Will have a dig and see if I can find them again.

onebigmonkey:
The defectives have long tried dictate terms in any kind of discussion, and then cry victory if people (quite reasonably) don't accede to their demands. Doesn't surprise me at all that Marcus would back out.
