I'm heading out to visit the family today. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!
-
Happy holidays to you as well! Yule was tedious--part of my now-ex-roommate's Great Airplane Drama--and Christmas doesn't look to be much better, so my holiday wish is that everyone have better holidays than I'm probably going to.
-
If you're in the southeast, it was pretty bad here - good weather but outbound flights got delayed because of destination storms and incomings got held up at their origins. Just another reason why I never ever travel (far) at holiday time.
-
Happy holidays, everyone.
I agree, I would not want to be travelling. I spent one Christmas Eve on a bus a few years ago and never want to do that again.
-
The first day, her flight was canceled because of snow in Chicago. The second day, we got to the airport barely on time, but an airline employee made her late. Yesterday, she finally got out and is now in Dayton, which is its own punishment.
-
I'm not traveling and by the looks of it neither is anyone in the South West of England. Horrible flooding.
-
The NWO must be playing with their HAARP weather settings again, jeezum.
Happy holidays to everyone!! :)

Punishment for her, or for the people of Dayton?

Looks like I'm trapped here with you.
Greetings to all from Cornwall.

She'll be speaking to as few of them as possible. She's not what you'd call sociable.

Happy holidays to all and may the New Year be hoax free.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Happy holidays to all and may the New Year be hoax free.
That would be a Christmas miracle.

It would also kind of end our reason for being on this board. And since I like hanging out with all of you, I've changed my mind. I wish us all a moon hoax filled New Year instead.

I'd like to talk about a different conspiracy for a while, maybe one where I can contribute. But for some reason, there aren't hordes of anti-Stratfordians crowding the place.
-
"Anti-Stratfordians"? Whattheheck?
ETA: Never mind. The Bard is an area where I'm particularly weak.
-
Anti-Stratfordian means "doesn't believe Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare's plays." I can argue that for days, but no one else seems to want to.
-
Does it really matter? Would the plays we know as "Shakespeare's plays" be any worse if they were actually written by others?

I find it highly improbable that some Shmoe from the hinterland could have written all those plays and poetry? Lets discuss the exact nature of the conspiracy that hid the true author of the plays.

Depends on how you define "does it matter?" and who you think actually wrote them. Mostly, it's people rejecting the idea that, yes, "some shmoe from the hinterland" could have done it. Most of the proposed alternate authors are nobles--one is Queen Elizabeth!

We could just enjoy celebrating the early American manned space program. It was a magnificent time (the space program itself, not the 1960s which were horrible with bad music, baby boomers, horrible architecture plus all the social problems of the time).
Btw, good looking very gibbous moon out tonight with Jupiter nearby.

I rather like Gielgud's response to one such theory:
"What self respecting actor would join the Royal Bacon Company?"
;D
