NEOWISE
« on: July 24, 2020, 08:23:11 PM »
After a week of westerly clouds around sunset, finally got a look with the family at NEOWISE with our 3" refractor, binoculars, and Mk1 eyeballs last night. Very pretty comet! Viewing seemed better with binoculars, I think the telescope has too much magnification relative to aperture; I've never had great luck with it for diffuse objects.

I was able to spot the comet with some borrowed binnoculors, but was unable to get it in my camera viewfinder.  I was in a well light parking lot with lights to my back and sides, so that was part of the problem.  My house is surrounded by trees that barely allow viewing of the Big Dipper.
