Congratulations, Simon, on being born.
I almost envy you. The next 20 years are going to be interesting, no doubt about that.
You will learn to walk and talk, to laugh and play. You will know heartbreak and tragedy, love and joy.
It will be the best of times, it will be the worst of times.
But, in the end, I know there is at least one other person who will love and care for you, guiding you as best she can as you make your first steps, first crawls down the road of life.

I never had a driver's license when I lived at home; Mom refused to pay the extra insurance, so she never had teenaged drivers in the house.  How we'll handle the subject is one of those "under discussion until it actually matters" issues.
