Public Service Broadcasting
« on: July 13, 2015, 02:28:44 PM »
'Public Service Broadcasting' are a British band that I thought everyone here might be interested to know about. They specialise in putting cut-up dialogue from documentaries, movies and public information films to music. And they're actually pretty good. Their latest album is called 'The Race For Space' and, as the name suggests, is about the rivalry between the US and Soviet space programmes between 1957 and 1972.

Interestingly, they've pledged never to perform the entire album live as one of the tracks is about the Apollo 1 tragedy.

Anyway, this is the track that covers Apollo 11. Hope you like it :

Saw them at Glastonbury this year and they were great. The audience joining in with the 'GO' responses was fabulous.

All the dialogue with the crowd is done using a voice synthesiser with prepared script, which was very clever.

Good music on a good subject.
