Title: ASTP TV System
Post by: dwight on January 09, 2013, 09:31:45 AM
I am the happy owner of a folder that used to be home for ASTP TV documents. On the inside cover there is ink bleed through which has the incomplete title "...MBLER DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM". Any ideas on what "...MBLER" may be?

Scrambler? Assembler?

The folder is labelled on the spine with "GENERAL" so I am starting to think it wasn't solely used for TV documents. I suspect it may very well be "scrambler" for the voice signal.

Does "..." indicate how many characters you think have been obliterated? Or is that the standard ... when introducing something?

I'd be interested in looking at a image / scan of the label to help me work it out.

I have reversed the image which is on the inside cover. The "..." meant only the word was broken, as you can see on he newly scanned image here.

I found this on eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commodore-64-Assembler-Development-System-/170932945102?nma=true&si=P51rwFfn2evV4Jw41xyVYpkl6rk%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557):

"ASSEMBLER" does seem more likely.

The letter prior to the partially missing letter "M" seems more likely to be an "E" and an "A"
