Title: UK Journalism at its best- The Daily Fail (Mail)
Post by: Zakalwe on January 19, 2014, 12:13:52 PM
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2541410/What-mystery-object-spotted-Google-Moon-Bizarre-wedge-shaped-craft-appears-lunar-surface.html

The Daily Mail is a daily tabloid right-wing newspaper consumed by millions in the UK. It's favourite topics are how immigration is destroying the UK, Princess Diana and how life for nice, white, middle-class Little-Englanders (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2020425/We-proud-Little-Englanders-Rebirth-confident-English-identity.html) is being ruined by the BBC, Lefties, immigration, the EU and the climate-change conspiracy theory. There must be enough material in it for someone to do a doctorate on crank magnetism though....

<Picard facepalm> Sigh. That's a pixellated crater, blown up beyond all reason.
Google Moon? Why does no one check the coordinates and see what LRO shows?

Also, don't they realize that Google Moon uses Clementine photos?  Those images are twenty years old!

To be fair, the Opportunity story is intriguing. Having said that, though, a poster on UM has produced an excellent piece of work to show the rock's path: http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=261048&st=75#entry5051074

Ah. They have spotted they used the wrong image and put the right one in. It was a picture of Curiosity.
