Radioactive CM handles?
« on: November 10, 2024, 06:57:09 PM »
I came across this claim here

https://www.flickr.com/photos/jurvetson/14480682307?fbclid=IwY2xjawGeJRRleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHb4fTY1olIqHaq3xeOhoHlNLd2EqVQUTWABO3Cpz_jtkhH_LyNlrb8BMyQ_aem_L3ruXpQLD33X30hhRdC22w

Is this correct? Were the handles really regarded as radioactive waste and disposed of accordingly?

Here is some information on the handles and what happened to them.  In an attached image you will find some radiation decals put on after recovery.

There is also a link to a NASA report.

ETA:  The report, I have read this back about 7 years ago while researching the Blunders radiation claims.

Truth needs no defense.  Nobody can take those footsteps I made on the surface of the moon away from me.

Seems an excess of caution since Pm147 is only a beta emitter.
