This Armstrong has an unfailing ability to shoot himself in the foot for the sake of his massive what-ever-it-takes competitive drive. There is a much to answer for.

Didn't somebody in his legal team tip him the nod....that maybe...just maybe, confessing his wrong doings on national TV may result in the odd lawsuit or 10 from his old sponsors?
He is the archetypal fallen hero - no excuses whatsoever, everything he's ever accomplished...now in the gutter.

Be grateful. An American hero falls because he did took substances to improve his performance (which probably all his competitors were too).

Unlike Wilde, Armstrong would probably thrive under harsh labor conditions. It would be easier than his race training regimen, even without the roids.
