This week I have completed a new monster computer of mine, here are the specs:
Be quiet! Pure Base 600 Window Orange - Towermodel
Corsair HX750 80 Plus Platinum
MSI X299 Gaming Pro Carbon
Intel Core i7-9800X
Noctua NH-U12A
4x 8gb HyperX Predator 3200 MHz / PC4-25600 - CL16
1x Samsung 970 PRO 512GB M.2
2x 4TB Barracuda Pro
Later I will be treating myself with an other Samsung 970 PRO 512GB M.2 and an MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio.
With this impressive setup I believe I will be able to finally combine MMC photos in full-resolution to create mosaics with an absolutely bonkers resolution. I have tried this before with a core duo quad and 8GB of ram, but the program kept crashing.
I believe I can do it now.
I am talking about photos like these: http://wms.lroc.asu.edu/apollo/browse?camera=M&mission=16&page=2
More can be found here: http://wms.lroc.asu.edu/apollo/browse
If you know any interesting sequences let me know and I will try those.

Best of luck! 8 core? 32 GB RAM? Must be fun to drive....

It is crazy fast, I think Intalling windows 10 took 5 minutes? I tried a few quick high-resolution mosaics and the SSD easily reaches +1000mb/s write and read speed.
Eventually it will need to use a 4tb HDD because it needs to make +100gb work files.

I am wondering if I can combine two or three Panoramic Mapping Camera frames to make a 18-Gigapixel panorama.
I got 32gb of ram, not sure if thats enough though. And about 4tb free for a swap file, which may be in the 1tb size at this point.
