Title: Name of a movie

Dear all
I am searching for the name of a movie on a dinosaur and its mother..i watched that in the early 90's and i vaguely remember it..the movement of the animals was a bit robotic..and the mother was searching for its baby and humans maybe were trying to get it just can't recall well..so if you can guess the name please state it

I've never seen it...  and I might be biased... but the lovely Sean Young was in it, so it can't be all bad. :)

Also if you know about that movie I used to cry always at the end if it happens to be put on tv..an african man who goes to search for water and he thinks he lost his son and the last scene is he runnign and hugging his son and crying...
vague memories from childhood ;)
