Announcing new Apollo17.org, 44th anniversary edition

Hi everyone,

Happy Apollo 17 anniversary everyone.

I've updated apollo17.org with a ton of new features. The site has received a lot of attention this past year, and over the summer I've expanded it greatly. I worked with the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter team at NASA Goddard to reconstruct the landing site in 3D and add animations of the LRV traverses. I also added new interface features (like transcript search) plus hours of previously unavailable historical footage.

The landing sequence will begin tomorrow, December 11th at 2:45PM EST if you'd like to watch it "live". Of course, if you're impatient you could just jump to that moment too: http://apollo17.org/?t=112:52:17

Ben -- I've tried all your links above and none of them work for me -- neither the first full link or the later ones that don't have the times included in the "hot" part. I picked up the times in the later links and pasted them to my address bar, but whichever one I try from the home page, the screen goes blank briefly, then I end up back at the home page. The buttons there show the red circle with a slash, so I can't make them work, but the button link to the LRO page does work.

I'd like to be able to get into the program because I have the Spacecraft Films DVD set of Apollo 17, and your webpage sounds like it would help me understand the traverses better than I do.

I'm using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the links. It looks like the forum software only covered part of the links and now I can't edit the post. You'll have to copy the whole URL into your browser. Make sure you're not using a mobile phone. Desktop, laptop, or tablet only (for now). Chrome preferrable.

This is quite simply a stunning piece of work and I cannot thank you enough for your commitment in bringing this resource together.  What really worked for me was reading the book "How Apollo flew to the Moon" by David Woods alongside your production, it really helped to add context to many of the radio transmissions. Thank you again!
