Lost conspiracy theory - has anyone seen it?

I have some vague recollection that there was someone about the old incarnation of this board, who thought there was a large Chinese army hiding in secret tunnels under New York.

Is my recollection correct, that that was at this board?  I am unable to find it anywhere.

Those soldiers must be getting on a bit, BTW.

IIRC, that was Rusty Lander.  Also know as lazarusty and a few other names.  He had a habit of quitting the board and deleting his account then rejoining under a different name when his anger subsided.

The original prediction was for 2005, but was lost in a board crash.  The topic was kicked around in this thread where Rusty refused to acknowledge the prediction was wrong; he just said the timing was off.  He was asked a few more times over subsequent years, IIRC, but never gave up this fantasy. 

They'd better hurry up and invade or they'll need help from Boy Scouts just to cross the street.

Well that's the best kind of prediction, it can't be falsified.

I predict there will be a catastrophic earthquake at an unspecified time and place.

I also predict there will be a major stock market crash, at an unspecified time and in an unspecified market.

I predict a famous person will die unexpectedly.  Unspecified time, unspecified person, unspecified means of death.

Wasn't there a 1950's sci fi movie that had this premise? Only I think the tunnels were under Los Angeles, not New York.
