Modern TV's not up to showing old skool consoles?
« on: December 30, 2014, 06:48:32 PM »
I've dusted off my old N64 for a bit of old skool Donkey Kong.  The problem is when piping it through my modern TV, there is a flicker in picture and in audio.  I remember a similar thing happening a while back with the SNES too.  Looks like something is up with the type of signal the console is sending.  Can anyone, whose names begin with Dw or Ja, imagine what is going on here?

Frame rate, interlacing, age-related degradation in the N64 video hardware?  Not really my expertise.  Dw is gonna be your best bet.
