RIGHT NOW - Assassination attempt in Denmark - Lars Wilks is unharmed

Just about an hour ago a person or persons attempted to kill the swedish cartoonist Lars Wilks at a meeting about freedom of speech. After spraying the building with a full magazine from a full-auto machine-pistol or infantry rifle, he yelled a message in what appeard to be arabic. He then carjacked a civilian person and escaped.

3 police officers injured - not serious - and one civilian most likely dead.

Two nsw shootings just happened. 2 police officers wounded, one civilian shot in the head near a synagoge. Presumably connected to the first shooting.

This is a terrible situation.  I fear it will get worse before people stop killing others over words and images.

Half an hour ago, an individual was shot and killed by the police - close to a S-station, which had been closed off since the second shooting.

It is our 7/7. I suspect the right-wing nationalist party will take a huge leap in the polls this week. We have an election to our parlament coming up this fall. Our socialist government have already taken a huge hit because they have been incompetent and gone against their promises up to the last election.

Edit: the civilian shot by the synagoge has been confirmed to die from his injuries. The two police officers are injured in one arm and one leg. A total of five police officers has been injured.

The third  person killed fired on the police,  and they shot back, presumably with MP5's - their go-to weapon when the HK USP compact is outclassed.

Danish special forces - frogmen and the jaegercorps has been rumored to be close at hand to the police. They walk softly and carry a big stick.

How often do (nonpolitical) shootings happen in Denmark? Sadly, they're a way of life here in the US, but for some reason they don't seem to count because they're not, you know, "terrorism".

Very rarely. Most are gang-related (turf-wars over drugs between biker-gangs and immigrant groupings). But a person opening up with an automatic weapon on a politically motivated target? Never before. There was a politically motivated bombing in '78, I believe, were a jewish owned travel agency got hit. That is the extent of terrorism within our borders, I believe.

The perpetrator to these two attacks were most likely the same man, who was killed by the police when they challenged him. The police had apparently acquiered his identity from a taxi driver who had picked him up when he ditched the carjacked vehicle and then delivered him at his address. The police then kept his address under close guard, and he returned there early in the morning (5 a.m.) and the rest is history. He called the taxi form his cellphone, caught on CCTV - and the taxi driver (who most certainly has a case of the heebee-jeeebeees right now) supplied the address. There was CCTV on the address, and the person was seen entering and leaving the place on the footage.
