Abandoned Buran orbiters found

It seems an 'urban explorer' has taken a look inside an old abandoned hangar in Kazakhstan and found something of historical interest to space buffs everywhere:

What an amazing find!
If you're not a scientist but you think you've destroyed the foundation of a vast scientific edifice with 10 minutes of Googling, you might want to consider the possibility that you're wrong.

I don't think that they were the actual Burans. They were full scale boilerplates of the orbiter.  I have the original Russain article somewhere...lemme have a look.

Found it:
http://ralphmirebs.livejournal.com/219949.html

According to Google Translate: "Currently, within the MKS are two ships, one of which is the second flying prototype "Storm" and other technological layout of OK-MT for testing pre-launch operations. However, despite the fact that this layout, inside and outside it looks like a ship. Both are not in the best condition, and because of that they are mutually reinforcing."

Must have been an awesome site to get into!

Loads more info on Buran and the MAKS system here:
