Great Vanity Plate
« on: March 22, 2013, 12:50:20 AM »
As I was returning to my apartment in Omaha from giving a flight lesson last night, I noticed a car in front of me with the plate TITAN II.  The first thing I thought was "Huh!  Martin Marietta!"  Then I noticed the license plate frame that said "U.S. Air Force Retired".  So I pulled up next to him, got him to roll down his window and yelled "Missile Squadron?"  He replied that he'd been on a crew for fourteen years.

Wish I'd had the presence of mind to holler "Whiteman?" instead...

I saw a little while back ST59 EVA. Don't think it was intended as a vanity plate though since there was no EVA on STS 9.
