Interesting article about ALSEP
« on: June 10, 2015, 03:56:35 PM »
As others have mentioned, sometimes the hoaxheads bring up arguments that lead to some interesting info I was unaware of while trying to find facts to dispute their claims. Case in point was the ALSEP data that somebody claimed has gone completely missing. I eventually found this:

ALSEP - not aslep.
Well, it is like this: The truth doesn't need insults. Insults are the refuge of a darkened mind, a mind that refuses to open and see. Foul language can't outcompete knowledge. And knowledge is the result of education. Education is the result of the wish to know more, not less.

So frustrating knowing that I could probably store all of that data now on a single one of my hard drives...

Sorry, I keep making that same mistake for some daft reason. Hopefully a moderator will fix it for me.

Looking through some of the links in that article is amazing. I always wondered if all the seismic activity recorded by the various ALSEP's was available somewhere on the internet and looks like it is. Haven't had time to go through all of it yet but I'd like to see the graphs from the LM ascent stage impacts as well as the spent S-IVB's. I was fascinated to find how they used these to calibrate their seismic equipment.
