I like it. Though I think I prefer the first one. A lot of characterisations in Aliens are kind of annoying. Still, an excellent movie overall.

OK, so who thought this...

might be an out-of-focus black&white photograph of one of these...

... a black-faced rebus monkey (this is what my granddaughters thought it looked like)

...here is the Kaguya image from the same spot, which I stitched together from 9 separate tiles:

Can you please post a link to the Kaguya archive of images?  Thanks!

Can you please post a link to the Kaguya archive of images?  Thanks!

I use this one

http://l2db.selene.darts.isas.jaxa.jp/index.html

It's a bit tricky to fathom out thanks to poor translation, but the trick is (once you've agreed to the terms) to select the product you want to so see, then define your area on the map, then execute the search.

Although it talks about adding to a cart it's all free.

I've found the most reliable images are the Evening and Morning Map images, as they always open in their bespoke software. They're part of the LISM dataset. Rename the files as '.tar' and use something like winrar to extract the images.

The link to the viewer software is at the bottom of this page.

I thought it was a baboon - but not the face.
Well, it is like this: The truth doesn't need insults. Insults are the refuge of a darkened mind, a mind that refuses to open and see. Foul language can't outcompete knowledge. And knowledge is the result of education. Education is the result of the wish to know more, not less.

China finally came back online!

Their images are perhaps less useful as the ones they have posted tend to be at lunar midday, so there is very little variation in light and shade to determine features.

Here's the link to their images, which can be viewed using 'nasaview' software.

Well obviously the Chinese engineers have airbrushed the pipeline out, because I can't see it. ::)
