Why is there never any video of the earth spinning?

Looks like video to me.

Meteostat: Run by EUMETSAT (European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites), an intergovernmental agency involving 30 European Union countries, and based in Darmstadt, Germany.

Impressive given there are only 28 countries in the EU.

The other two countries are Turkey and Switzerland which, while they are not members of the EU, are memebr states in the EUMETSAT conglomerate.

http://www.eumetsat.int/website/home/AboutUs/WhoWeAre/MemberStates/index.html

The other two non-EU countries in EUMETSAT are Iceland and Norway.
I'll leave it as an exercise to find out which EU countries are not EUMETSAT members. (Hint: they are Mediterranean islands.)

Cyprus and Malta, which also happen to be the other two Commonwealth members in the EU.

I had someone protesting there wasn't live feed from any satellite so we could see the Earth turning rather than a series of stills; when it was pointed out to him the rotation would be too slow to see on a live-feed he suggested it be speeded up.

On top of that, there has been live video, copious amounts of it, from the ISS.

Hah, that's funny, that's very funny!

Ask him which he would like speeded up, the Live feed or the Earth's rotation?
If you're not a scientist but you think you've destroyed the foundation of a vast scientific edifice with 10 minutes of Googling, you might want to consider the possibility that you're wrong.

"Cheer up!" they said. "It could be worse!" they said.
So I did.
And it was.

And the rest of the turtles!  It's turtles all the way down, young man!

Hey, you!  "It's" with an apostrophe means "it is" or "it has."  "Its" without an apostrophe means "belongs to it."

FTFY!!

You missed out the Elephants! :D

The elephants are to the left of, and below, the turtle (as depicted here), so their shadows don't fall on the moon.

You and I both know that shadows do weird things on the moon  :) 8)
