Fewer and fewer remain.  In the feature film, Gene Krantz gets all the attention for handling the Apollo 13 crisis.  In fact it was Lunney who steered the boat through the initial rapids.  When you study forensic engineering, you dissect such things as the first hour of Apollo 13 following the explosion.  Lovell, Haise, and Swigert owe their lives to many people, but the first person to whom they owe their lives is Glynn Lunney.

Grrr, that's the second time I've screwed up making a link like that on this forum. From now on I'll proofread my BB code better! ::)

The portrayals of Ken Mattingly (Gary Sinise) and John Aaron (Loren Dean) were also used as composites of themselves and other people.

That really is an excellent obituary. Brief, informative, and very well-written.

Some people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices and superstitions. — Edward R. Murrow (1908–65)
