Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)
Launched in 2009, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) is mapping the surface of the Moon in much greater detail than ever before.
The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) is capable of capturing images of the lunar surface with resolutions down to 1 meter. In addition to providing valuable scientific knowledge of the Moon, including identifying potential resources and hazards for future explorations, the LRO has also given us a look at the Apollo landing sites.
