One of the stereotypes of Mission Control seems to be that the engineers did all their calculations with slide rules. As a result I like to point out that trajectory calculations were performed on NASA's mainframe computers.
However I've since been told that Mission Control did trajectory calculations on paper (with slide rules) as well as on the computer.
Does anyone know if that is that correct?
