The Reality of Apollo / Re: "Star" in an Apollo photo?

Couldn't be the CSM passing overhead, could it?

Otherwise I'd go with an artifact in development or scanning (or damage to the film itself).  On the full-size scan I see a few more spots that look like that, just much smaller/fainter.

Though not a star, Venus is captured in a couple photos, such as AS14-64-9191. Quite hard to see though.

Well if you look at AS17-146-22294 there is no object, so I'm going out on a limb here: it is a film artifact.

ETA:  The second image appears taken from a slightly different perspective and this ay attribute to the object going behind the bolder possibly

The Reality of Apollo / "Star" in an Apollo photo?

No, I don't think it is, but I'd be curious to hear what people think it is.

The photo in question is AS17-146-22293. Just to the right of the rock is a dot of light. In the hi-res version at ALSJ it appears to be two dots. (The dot is also visible in the LPI low-res image, so I assume it's not an ALSJ thing.)

However AS17-146-22294, which must have been taken only a few seconds later, doesn't show the dot.

Any thoughts?

The Reality of Apollo / Hasselblad Resources?
« Last post by TimberWolfAu on May 18, 2024, 02:11:52 AM »
Hi All,

Does anyone have anything they can share, or know where to find, some good resources on the Hasselblad cameras used during Apollo? Primarily interested in the testing that went into the cameras, how it was determined that they would survive the lunar environment for example the expected solar energy being received on the sunlit side of the camera vs the shadowed side of the camera emitting heat.
I've found comments around that things like the silvered paint reflecting possibly some 95% of the incoming energy, the constant change in the angle of the sun (moving from sunlight to shadow, different sides being in shadow), and such would have kept the body of the camera in an almost constant state of receiving and emitting energy (and consequently not transferring or loosing much energy internally).

Can anyone assist?

The Hoax Theory / Re: New interview: Joe Rogan and Bart Sibrel

Eh -- I think "grifter" is the more accurate term.  True Poes (hah) aren't motivated by money, at least not in my experience.

But my experience could be limited.

I'd wager everyone's experience is limited because the number of nationally recognized Apollo hoax proponents is fairly limited. Ralph René was considerably motivated by money. In my private interactions with him, I never got a good handle on whether he believed his own bunk. But he definitely considered it a money-making activity, and he was livid that people like David Percy and Bart Sibrel had stolen his market. He also alleged that they stole his material, which is questionable.

Is that why they've all monetized their channels on X?
